Job evaluation is a means of being able to compare any job anywhere within the organisation with another job anywhere within the matrix of the organisation. This means it has the ability to go cross divisions and not fall into the ‘silo’ trap. In essence it’s giving you the ability to objectively compare the relative worth of apples and oranges.
